Introduction

Last Refuge Ltd. is a small Company dedicated to the support of endangered environments and species in our changing world, through films, images and research.

The Company was established in 1992, while studying the plight of surviving wild Giant Pandas in the Qinling Mountains of Central China. Since that time, we have worked on projects in Ecuador, Madagascar, Malaysia, Thailand, Namibia, Tanzania, Mali, Morocco, Europe, North America, Venezuela, United Kingdom, Rwanda, Congo and Guyana.

The Present

Our long term project in Ecuador with the Waorani, started in 1983, continues. 2004 saw the completion of a new film about Mountain Gorillas, called “The Gorillas of my Grandfather” in Rwanda. Iin November 2004, we published "ENGLAND: An Aerial View", a book of our own aerial photographs accompanied by a text describing the history of our country. Exactly a year later, in November 2005, we published a miniature edition of our large England book, entitled "ENGLAND: The Mini-Book of Aerial Views". Two new book titles are planned for publication for early 2006, together with more Traveler's Reference Guide Maps to accompany the map of Mount Roraima we published in 2003.

Will Brett has joined our team to handle the film library and to help work on a new web database for both stills and film footage. We have welcomed new stills photographers and film archives to broaden our canvas. We are now able to offer our clients archive quality colour printing of photographs up to 1 metre wide.

Our wing mounted aerial camera system for Cessna aircraft is certified by the United Kingdom and European Aviation Authorities. Our Cessna 182 is in constant use for both aerial still photography and for filming.
